Here is my Booklist/Sources Part-2 for Prelims. Please see the article on booklist Part-1 before reading this.

ART AND CULTURE

  1. Tamilnadu Class-11,12 History Textbooks- Wonderful textbooks. Very Concise and brilliantly written especially the South Indian Art&Culture which is often being asked in Prelims
  2. Introduction to Fine Art NCERT Class 11: Theme wise book which covers Temples, Rock Cut Caves, Islamic Architecture in depth
  3. Selective Reading of Nitin Sighania Textbook for any missed out topics like Dances, Crafts, Puppetry, etc.
  4. Reading the latest GI Tags updated list: http://www.ipindia.nic.in/registered-gls.htm and knowing some features of those which got recognition recently

ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL INDIA

  1. Old NCERT Class 11 on Ancient India
  2. Old NCERT Class 12 on Medieval India
  3. If time permits, read Bhakti Movt from Class 12 New NCERTS

ECONOMY

  1. Macro Economics NCERT Class 12: For Basic Concepts
  2. Indian Economic Development NCERT Class 11: For Historical Background
  3. If time permits, Sanjiv Verma's book on Indian Economy for broad overview
  4. Latest Economic Survey: All chapters of Part-1, Compulsory Chapter-1 of Part-2 and Glancing the other chapters of Part-2

ENVIRONMENT AND ECOLOGY

  1. ICSE Class 9, Class 10 Textbooks
  2. NCERT Biology Class 12 last few chapters on Environment
  3. PT 365 of Vision IAS (which is released 1-2 Months before Prelims)
  4. Prelims Compilation of Insights on India (which is released 1-2 Months before Prelims)
  5. Class 12 Chemistry NCERT Chapter on Environment/Pollution
  6. Tiger Reserves, Wildlife Sanctuaries, National Parks, Environmental Agreements and Conventions topics from Shankar IAS Environment Book

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

  1. NCERTS Class 8 to Class 10 Science Textbooks
  2. PT 365 of Vision IAS (which is released 1-2 Months before Prelims)
  3. Prelims Compilation of Insights on India (which is released 1-2 Months before Prelims)
  4. Any coaching material notes preferably Vajiram IAS for Topics like Space, Nano Technology, Bio-Technology.

CURRENT AFFAIRS

  1. Vision PT 365 books on Polity, International Relations, Economy, Govt.Schemes, Art and Culture
  2. Special focus on International Organisations, Reports, Summits, Conferences
  3. Daily Reading of Hindu 
  4. Explained Section of The Indian Express
  5. Reading Press Information Bureau Releases daily for 10-15min. (Only those Releases which you think could be a source for Prelims Questions)

    Sir, we are looking for holistic MAINS booklist... Because if we cover that, prelims would be automatically taken care of.
    Rather, you should have shared MAINS Booklist.
